Once you've downloaded your Will document, there are a few steps to make it your completed Will — and then it's a matter of keeping it safe.
Print and sign it. Your Will document needs to be printed and then signed and witnessed according to the instructions included with it — it isn't complete until this is done. Our articles on downloading your Will and witnessing requirements explain more.
Store the original safely. Keep the signed original somewhere secure that can still be reached when it's needed — and make sure your executor knows where it is and how to access it. A digital copy or photocopy generally isn't a substitute for the signed original. See storing your Will for more.
Note that EveryWill doesn't store your signed Will. We don't currently offer a storage service for signed Wills, so the signed original stays in your care — which is why choosing a safe place and telling your executor about it matters.
Keep it up to date. If your circumstances change — such as a marriage, divorce, a new child, or a change in what you own — you can sign in and update your online form at any time, for free. Keep in mind that you'll then need to download, print, and complete the updated document following the signing and witnessing instructions. See editing your Will.
