Thank you for thinking about leaving a gift to charity in your Will. 💛 It's a meaningful way to support a cause that matters to you.
You can leave a gift to a charity in two sections: as part of your residuary estate, or as a specific gift — whichever suits what you have in mind. EveryWill features charity partners you can browse while completing your online form, but you're not limited to that list. At either section, if you can't find the organization you wish to support, you can:
1. Tap Search for a charity.
2. Type the charity's name in the search bar.
3. If it appears, select it. If it doesn't, you can add it yourself — you'll need the organization's name and its EIN (Employer Identification Number).
4. Save it, and it'll be included alongside your other choices.
An EIN is a nine-digit number the IRS assigns to organizations. Most charities show theirs on their website — often on a donation or "tax information" page — or you can ask the charity directly.
Please note that our platform currently doesn't support adding international not-for-profit organizations.
