When you reach the 'Do you have children?' page in the My Family section, the on-screen prompts will guide you through who to add. As a quick guide:
Your own children: add your biological and legally adopted children, including adult children. It's best to list all of your children here — even a child you don't plan to leave anything to. You can read more in our article on excluding a child from a Will.
Stepchildren and foster children: the online form asks you not to add stepchildren or foster children at this step, unless you've legally adopted them. You can still choose to leave them a gift at a later step.
Expecting a baby: you can return and add your child after they're born. Keep in mind that this means updating your Will — you'll need to download, print, and sign the updated document with witnesses — the update isn't complete until it's been properly signed and witnessed.
If your family situation is more involved — for example, a blended family — you may wish to consult an estate planning attorney in your state.
